South Africa captain AB de Villiers has said there is a good chance Dale Steyn will be in the playing XI for their semi-final against England on Wednesday. Steyn's fitness is being monitored carefully as he was said to be struggling a little after their last league game against the West Indies on Friday. De Villiers also dismissed the allegation that his team were “chokers” saying they had just one two must win games in a row. .

This year's Tour De France starts on June 29 with Chris Froome the official Sky team leader and one of the favourites in the absence of four-times Olympic champion Wiggins, who has been ruled out by injury and illness. Froome has been on top form this year, winning the Criterium du Dauphine in France on Sunday the Tour of Oman, the Criterium International and Tour of Romandie. England and Sri Lanka have held open training sessions at the Oval in south east London today, ahead of their match in the ICC Champion’s Trophy. Team captain’s Alastair Cook and Angelo Mathews later took questions as separate press conferences.

England captain Alastair Cook says he is disappointed the team’s victory over Australia has been marred by an altercation between Joe Root and Australia’s David Warner. The alleged incident took place at the Walkabout pub in Birmingham on Saturday night. Leaving the Oval in London on Wednesday, Root refused to comment on the claims, but local radio DJ Adam Wilbourn was in the same bar and said the Australian team were clearly enjoying a few drinks. Warner has since been dropped from the NZ game.
